OBJECTIVE Anderson was born in 1970. He was one of the first of the “video store” generation of film–makers. His father was the first man on his  block to own a VCR, and from a very early age Anderson had an infinite number of titles available to him. While film–makers like Spielberg cut their teeth making 8 mm films, Anderson cut his teeth shooting films on video and editing them from VCR to VCR. Part of Anderson’s artistic DNA comes from his father, who hosted a late night horror show in Cleveland.

APPROACH Throughout my research, I realized there was a common thread in most of Paul Thomas Anderson’s work: Witnessing the unsettling sequences of challenged characters. These psychologically challenged characters with twisted family affairs come across other people who turn their narrative that seems familiar and comforting yet turns out to be equally awkward. Even though in each movie we see totally  different characters and different stories, we can still see the resemblances of their challenged personalities and Anderson’s unique way of telling these stories and introducing these characters. In my work, I tried to reflect these characters as Damaged Goods and I chose colors and textures accordingly to give the feeling of their problematical family relations.
